Sans Francisco is a curated collection of tools for designers. The goal of this little project was - simply - to build something using Rails. The project was the perfect size to get started. I built out a few simple models, allowed users to authenticate with Twitter, and added in a few Ruby gems to handle upvoting of tools and tagging of articles. The site took about two weeks to design and build, and with the help of a Product Hunt launch, it has since been visited 100k+ times.
It even comes in this handy to-go size too.
I couldn't decide on a color, so I bought one of each.
